Mission Statement
The Mama Sonya Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit led by Mama Sonya Rodriguez and operating as Resource De Layor Inc., is dedicated to serving underprivileged families with faith, compassion, and hands-on care. Born and raised in Southwest Florida, Mama Sonya brings her roots of unity and service into every community she touches.
She provides meals, resources, and personal support throughout Lee County — including Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, and Fort Myers Beach — and travels to other Florida communities when disaster strikes.
During Hurricane Ian, she was a vital boots-on-the-ground resource for Southwest Florida and continues to serve when crises arise.
Rooted in Galatians 3:28, her work reminds us that “we are all one in Christ Jesus.” Through unity, faith, and love in action, The Mama Sonya Project uplifts families and restores hope where it’s needed most.
